Listen Taped Live on “Rose Colombo N The Justice Club.” My wonderful guest is an Italian single mother, Dyannia Pedersen, turned author, who takes us back to the days of home cooking, assimilation of immigrants into the USA,. She talks about the importance of home cooking and family meal time before the new age of fast foods and fast living. Today, there’s no time for cooking. Today, there is little time for family. Her family was born in Italy and she provides a fun and entertaining interview as she shares her recipe book of original home cooked Italian foods with the audience titled, “Mangiare e Amare. Eat and Love! It’s the Italian way to happiness. America’s traditional immigrants from around the world applied for citizenship legally and they were proud to be Americans and assimilate as Americans. The immigrants prior to today weren’t attempting to change the USA into their foreign nations, but were proud to be Americans, assimilate, and speak English. They may have moved into ethnic neighborhoods at that time, but they were here to make America a better country by working hard to reach their American dream. They came to America so they could work hard and buy a home or a small business. The family unit was important. Meal time was a time when the family came together to talk about their day.
