Rose Colombo’s special guest and author is Rebecca Pollock, who wrote the book, “My Life as a Battered Woman.” Ms. Pollock is strong woman who went through the family law courts as a battered woman only to discover that there wasn’t any justice to be found in her case. In fact, many women will not find justice in the court system if they are confronted unexpectedly by unethical lawyers or gender bias judges and many lose their children after filing for divorce. It’s a serious problem in American as women across this nation experience some discrimination and after being battered by a partner entered the courts and felt battered by a gender bias judge or unethical lawyer or CPS worker. Rose Colombo points out in her book, “Fight Back Legal Abuse,” many women are shocked when they find themselves battered by the people who work within the system after they’ve experienced being battered by a partner which traumatizes women and children, not only financially, but physically and emotionally. Some women have spent one or two decades in jail because they dared to defend themselves against an abuser. This is not to say, there aren’t good people working within the system, but it only takes one rotten apple to destroy the lives of a battered woman or single women with children.
